This upcoming webinar by the EU funded 3-CO project will showcase good practice examples of social innovation from all across Europe and beyond to inspire sustainable change and present policy recommendations on how to support and scale such initiatives.
Social innovation is increasingly recognised as a vital force for addressing most pressing societal challenges of modern societies, ranging from climate change and resource scarcity to social exclusion and health issues. At their core, social innovations introduce new ideas to solve problems, be it products, services, or models. These can meet social needs more effectively than existing solutions. These innovations are social in their ends or means, and they thrive through collaboration, whether in social enterprises, corporate projects, non-profits, public sector programs, or grassroots community initiatives.
The day will feature: i) Interactive thematic sessions, including presentations by the cluster, panel discussions and co-creation activities involving key stakeholders; ii) Integrative sessions to reflect on and synthesise the insights gained during the day.
A highlight of the event will be an EU DG RTD.B1-led workshop on: “Bio-based products in the frame of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and the (proposal) for a Green Claims Directive”. Throughout the event, insights on how voluntary sustainability certification systems can serve as effective policy tools for a sustainable circular bioeconomy will be explored. Key takeaways and policy recommendations will be documented, with the day concluding in an integrative session to synthesise findings.
3-CO members will participate in the panel discussions. Furthermore, B.T.G. will present the live version of the “Lured by Labels Challenge”.
